Abstract

|
MInternet addiction is a novel clinical problem which is characterized by overindulgence of internet access or PC using, repeated control difficulties, and psychosocial dysfunction due to internet related behaviors. This article overviewed the definition of internet addiction and controversial concept of internet addiction in the name of ‘behavioral addiction’. Authors reviewed current findings associated with etiology, cormorbidity, epidemiology of internet addiction. Specific clinical characteristics and symptom manifestations, possible subtypes were presented and several proposed diagnostic criteria nd assessing tools will be described.
